Infection by Francisella orientalis is a major challenge faced by tilapia production. While the impact of Franciselosis is mainly counted by the farmer as biomass loss, the fillet discards from fish that survived to infection also have a significant and negative economic impact on other components of the supply chain. In collaboration with the University of Londrina (Brazil), Adisseo has explored additive solutions to deal with Franciselosis infection in tilapia production. A recent article at Panorama de Acuicultura proves the efficacy of Sanacore® GM and Bacti-nil® Aqua to reduce the severity of infection by 32% and 26%, respectively. This study contributes to the body of evidence towards the efficacy Sanacore® GM and Bacti-nil® Aqua to prevent disease and to maximize profitability across the supply chain of tilapia.
