Efficacy of Rovabio® Advance Phy

A new study carried out by Adisseo’s enzyme research team shows that Rovabio® Advance Phy can compensate for high reductions in metabolizable energy and nutrients, whilst maintaining optimal levels of performance in broilers.

Metabolizable energy (ME), digestible amino acids (dAA) and available phosphorus (avP) are the largest and most expensive components in broiler diets, considerable fractions of which still pass through the digestive tract undigested and are lost via excretion (Ravindran et al., 2013). Combined usage of carbohydrases and phytase in diets helps reducing this indigestible fraction by transforming it in digestible nutrients.

The recent study published at the 30th Australian Poultry Science Symposium aimed at evaluating the efficacy of Rovabio® Advance Phy (complex of multi-carbohydrases and high concentrated phytase) in corn-wheat-soybean meal-based diets with varying levels of ME, dAA, avP and Ca.

To establish relationships between performance parameters and nutrient contents, the study was designed according to 24 treatments:

  • 3 ME levels: -4, -6.5, -9%
  • 3 dAA levels: -4, -6.5, -9%
  • 2 avP & Ca levels: -0.12, -0.10; -0.23, -0.21 unit
  • 2 enzyme levels: +/- Rovabio® Advance Phy

 

The results of the study allowed confirming that Rovabio® Advance could exert its full potential when significant reductions in ME, dAA and avP were applied to broiler diets, turning into direct improved margins.

The model developed in this study enabled establishing the following relationships:

  • Feed intake was primary related with avP without enzyme; Rovabio® Advance Phy alleviated avP deficiency and restored feed intake at low level of P
  • Weight gain was related with ME and dAA intake
  • Feed efficiency was related with dAA

In this practical case, Rovabio® Advance Phy could restore 135 kcal, 0.06%u dLys and 0.15%u avP.
