The 2015 seminar has been focused on the interaction between amino acid nutrition and important functions to support animal performance. ”Amino acids, redox balance and anti-oxidant mechanisms” has been the motto.
Scientists from all over the world have made major updates on the understanding of the drivers of redox balance, immunity and anti-oxidative mechanisms to sustain animal protein production: from the fundamental mechanisms to the practical application.
We have also covered what proteogenomic studies can reveal as well as how seleno proteins will not only have anti-oxidant properties but also immune potential. The recent research on the potential of sulphur amino acids on immunity and how antioxidant can improve meat quality has been also mentioned
During the interactive roundtable our community has also brainstormed on the benefits of amino acids beyond their role as building blocks in feed formulation in order to improve sustainability of animal protein production.
