Rovabio® PhyPlus is the latest product from the Rovabio® range launched by Adisseo.
About 50 to 80% of phosphorus in vegetal raw materials used in feed is present as phytic phosphorus (IP6). Dietary phytate is not fully available to monogastric animals due to their low levels of endogenous phytase activity. Thus, phytases are used in more than 90% of poultry and swine operations. Although phytases are initially used to fulfil regulatory requirements of limiting phosphorus excretion, they have proved over the years to be more than simple phosphorus extractors from plant-based feed ingredients. Phytases attenuate the anti-nutritional impacts of dietary phytate on overall feed digestibility.
The careful selection of the proper phytase gene allowed to develop a fast, powerful and highly thermostable product - Rovabio® PhyPlus.
Thanks to the efficiency of Rovabio® PhyPlus, almost all the IP6 can be broken within the first 30 minutes leading to a high release potential of phosphorus from phytates. This allows to reach up to 87% of phosphorus availability in a classical diet with high dose of 2000 FTU/kg of feed.
Improves Feed Digestibility
By eliminating phytate and thus, countering its anti-nutritional impacts. Enhances feed digestibility by both preventing phytate from inhibiting digestive enzymes and releasing and sparing nutrients (energy, amino acids and minerals).
Improves Profitability
Reduces feed costs by decreasing the use of expensive inorganic phosphate sources while improving nutritional value, leading to enhanced animal performance.
Improves Sustainability
Limit the need for inorganic phosphate sources, decreases phosphorus excretion, and improves the environmental footprint of animal production.
Rovabio® PhyPlus as a 6-phytase starts degrading phytate at 6-position phosphate, then continues until reaching the inositol level.
The enzymatic reaction starts as soon as the feed is being rehydrated with a pH below 6.5 in the crop of poultry. Its activity continues through the digestive system and gradually loses activity when the pH in the gut gets too high for the phytase to work. This is where a full activity at low pH is important to start the phytate degradation soon enough in the GIT.
Rovabio® Phyplus is currently available in different countries. Following each regional regulatory process, Adisseo will extend the Rovabio® Phyplus coverage.
