Adisseo to Share its Advances in Methionine and Enzyme Research for Poultry with the Scientific World. 15th June 2009 - Leading nutritional feed additive manufacturer Adisseo will be sharing its recent research with some of the world's key poultry nutritionists and researchers at its own scientific seminar in Edinburgh, UK, in the afternoon of Tuesday 25th August 2009. The seminar will take place during a free afternoon of the World Poultry Science Association's 17th European Symposium on Poultry Nutrition (also being held in Edinburgh) and is expected to attract some senior participants attending ESPN. The Adisseo meeting will focus on the physiology and nutrition of poultry with particular attention to methionine and enzymes. Experts will review the mechanisms of intestinal absorption of methionine sources, their role in the detoxification pathway and their antioxidant and acidification properties. On enzymes, speakers will review the modes of action of carbohydrolases and phytase combination, and their practical applications. "This latest research will be presented by international scientists and is expected to be of practical value for the feed industry", claims Adisseo. Finally, a scientific committee composed of international experts from Australia, USA, Brazil and Spain will announce the laureates for the new Adisseo Research Grant. The winners will be provided with 280,000 euros to fund their research on enzymes for the next two years. The Research Grant is viewed by the industry as proof of Adisseo's interest in bridging the gaps between the animal feed industry and research organizations. Attendance is by invitation only.
